Jacob Riis' photos spoke words that no one dare share with the world. His photograph shows us how far we have come and how far we can get. Not to stop; because the American society is a mighty one. It dares and for the most part succeeds. Sometimes they might dare too much and put others in jeopardy but when its all said and done success is complete without a little sacrifice.
His work is considered a work of art. Art that no camera of today could capture. Not even with the technology that we have today. Behind his flash he capture places people would consider lost. Place people of upper class tend to ignore.
Jacob has changed a lot with simple capturing places that seemed dark, so that we of the new America could see where we coming from so that we will know where we are going.
